Help With Mortgage

Times are tough, and banks know that better than we do. (The reason why FOURTY big banks went under between 2008 and 2009!)

All those banks hitting rock bottom started a chain of events that hasn't fully played out yet, but no doubt is in some small part responsible for you reading this page right now.

Asking for help with your Mortgage may be hard, but is always a smart move. Thousands of people every year don't ask for help, living in a state of denial that only catches up with them when the sheriff comes to evict them.

But what kinds of help is available to you? The possibilities are limitless, depending on many factors, such as the condition of your bank, the amount of equity you have built up, the local laws, the local charities, your insurance, the money you have on hand, your credit record, your willingness to relocate, and many other factors. It can be extremely confusing to know who to ask for help, and of course what kind of help you need.

Since you're here right now, we're working hard on making this page useful to you. It will list the latest news and editorials about getting help with mortgages, and anything else we think will lead you in the right direction. In short, if you're reading this, you'd be smart to read everything below on this page.

Question: Who is responsible for dumping DWP confidential documents?

These documents have been found on a roundabout near to Exeter airport about 2 miles from where I live. They contained mortgage details, bank details, copy passports etc. Did they fall out of a plane, I don't think so, so who was the carrier who dumped them?. This is the second time this has happened here on the same spot. Mr Hain will have more awkward questions to answer I fear. Should the carrier be charged with a criminal offence?.
The Police are aware of the situation

Answer: In Central London (near where I live) an 'auxiliary' postman (that is a "non experienced person"), got bored delivering post, wanted to go home, and, dumped his load's entire contents, inside a skip. What ought be done, is very simple. 1. Heads roll, 2. Charges are brought, 3. Convictions follow, 4. People go to prison, 5.New legislation, as to matters of negligence (as well as, having placed decent families in danger of 'theft of identity') should, expeditiously and unobtrusively be; put in place, 6. Shake and revamp the entire Department of Work and Pensions, by, dismissing Senior Management, and, putting Middle Management in these cretins' (Senior Management's) places. For a while (at least) we shall see some 'improvement', until the next chapter of continuing disasters.

Mortgage Help Hope

Question: Does anyone know where to find information on the Mortgage Rescue or Hope for Homeowners bills/acts?

I've heard there are Gov't programs available now for homeowners who have mortgages far over the current value of their home? I mortgaged my house for $195k when I bought it 4 years ago. Since then the value has dropped to about $140k (maybe even less,) my husband hasn't had work in over a year and my home business is seriously struggling. From what I have heard, they can mortgage your house for its current value and get the bank to waive off the rest. Then when you sell it the gov't and the bank both get a piece of anything you sell it for over the mortgaged amount.

However, with all the people trying to profit online from programs like this by becoming go betweens, I am having a tremendous amount of trouble finding real information on it or how to go about it.

Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you so much!!

Answer: I would recommend that you go to HUD's website. I will give you the link to where you are looking to get this information. The section is called "Guide to Avoiding Foreclosure". The website is http://www.hud.gov/foreclosure/. It gives you websites and HUD counselors, etc.

Good luck to you and your family.

I keep thinking I am doing it wrong. I use to work as a loan processer, but all I had to do was enter the figures into CAYLX software and it did the math for me. So just to assure I am not screwing up... Can someone tell me how to come up with the monthly mortgage payments?
I want to be able to figure it out on my own!

Answer: Run a Yahoo or Google search for mortgage calculator. There are a ton of online mortgage calculators.
