Dealing with Loss Mitigation Department at Indymac

Indymac is my Lender. Loss mitigation reviewing my loan package. Should I call them or wait until they get back with me?

I haven't been late in my mortgage payments at all, but my mortgage value is 6k down from what we purchased it at 2 years ago. There are a couple of foreclosures on our street. My husband and I commute to the bay area. So with gas prices skyrocketing and twin daughters driving and going to college, I asked Indymac on June 26th to consider a loan resolution for us. I received a letter from Loss Mitigation dept dated July 7th that they are reviewing it and will get back to me within 30 days. Should I call them or wait for 30 days?

Loss Mitigation Question

Hello Everyone - We have hired an attorney to handle our loss mitigation case. Our mortgage is currently two months past due. The file has been with the attorneys for over three months. Took a while to gather the documentation initially. We paid a gripload of money upfront. But my biggest concern is how willing are these lenders to work with people? My mortgage is with GMAC and I've heard good things about them. The negotiator over at GMAC is currently reviewing the financials on the file. We definitely show a hardship.

Long story short, my mortgage payment adjusted through the roof and I can't afford the new payment amount, plus we're upside down on the value. Any success stories? Basically the attorneys are trying to negotiate a lower principal and lower rate, 30 year fixed.

I'm so worried that we may end up losing our home, yet optimistic because I'm hearing a lot of lenders are working with their customers. Again, any success stories are appreciated. Please advise. Thx!

Loss Mitigation No Response?

I am trying to work with my bank's loss mitigation department. But, I am having a problem with them not getting back with me. I have been waiting for over 3 weeks for my lenders' loss mitigation to get back to me and still haven't received a call from them at all. I have been calling everyday to see if my case has been assigned to a loss mitigation agent. What are my options at this point?
