Question: Does anyone else feel discouraged?
I paid my way through college with an Army scholarship, and then enhanced my grad school stipend by working as a bouncer. I have an MS in chemical engineering. I waited until I was 30 to get married, and I have no kids. Basically I've sacrificed and delayed fufillment so that I could get a good job, good medical benefits, good car, retirement plan, save up a down payment for my house, and get locked in with a 30 year fixed rate mortgage at 6.125%. Then I open the paper (figuratively, since I get my news off the internet) and the headlines are all screaming about universal healthcare, subprime lending bailouts, corporate welfare, and nation building. And guess who gets to pay for all that government spending to ease the pain of bad choices? So I get mad, vote Libertarian, and they get trounced because both big parties are buying people's votes with their own money. Is anyone else feeling discouraged and unmotivated to succeed? Supporting morons isn't why I went to school.
Answer: My story is exactly the same except for the profession, it's hard not to feel crapped on. Thank you for having the motivation to better yourself, we need more of us.

Question: Where did cons get the absurd lie that the economy was fine until the dems took control of Congress?
I smell regurgitated Hannity or Limbaugh. The dems did not take control of Congress until January 2007.
Why would cons parrot a lie that is so easily proved false?

How_Would_I-Know: you need to read the whole article and not just quote a snippet out of context that, by itself, seems to support your point.
Thank you.
Answer: Because the Republican Party constituent base is, typically, either undereducated and cannot discern lies from truth or they are of that class that does not care about truth so much as they care about having a party that will protect their priveledge and guard their unethical profits.

Question: Career suggestions for a veteran mortgage guy?
I have been a loan officer, sales manager and Wholesale rep at various times over 31 yrs. I never wrote subprime loans. With the mortgage crash, I am looking for another career. I am not really interested in insurance, financial planning or being a stockbroker. I do have a college degree.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Answer: Find a nice place, Long Island may be, and start your own company. It's full with rich people that are ready to spend a lot of money for landscaping. Hire two guys and in the mean time you can go surfing, have fun! Good luck!
